Ali Khamenei said: “Iran and its armed forces adhere to rationality alongside force, and others should adopt this approach to keep the region away from crises.”
Khamenei added: “Whoever dug a well for his brother fell into it,” stressing that “the Hollywood images of the US military are completely far from reality.”
And a channel affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard had published a video on the Telegram application showing sending more Iranian military reinforcements to the northwestern borders bordering Azerbaijan, as this action came after the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Saeed Khatibzadeh, announced that “Iran will not tolerate the presence of Israel is close to its borders, even if it is a show.”
The Iranian Foreign Ministry expressed Tehran’s astonishment at the statements of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev about the entry of Iranian trucks into the Karabakh region, and the Iranian military maneuvers near his country’s borders.
These statements were made by Aliyev in an interview with the Turkish “Anadolu Agency”, during which he said that Azerbaijan had monitored via satellites and drones the entry of Iranian trucks into Karabakh, adding that this was not the first time that “Iranian trucks entered illegally” into the region. He pointed out that although Baku expressed its anger at the Iranian side, “this matter has continued.”
Aliyev also touched on the recent military exercises conducted by Iran near the Azerbaijani border, describing them as “surprising” as there have been no such exercises over the past 30 years.
The Iranian army had warned last year that Tehran “will not allow the establishment of bases for Israel near its borders,” against the backdrop of the remarkable development achieved by cooperation between Baku and Tel Aviv, including in the military field.
