RT reporter said that they tried to smuggle a former Iranian military into his country.
Earlier, the media reported that the Turkish authorities prevented the entry of Iranian trucks through all the border crossings between the two countries, against the backdrop of the escalating tension between Iran and its neighbor, Azerbaijan, an ally of Turkey, in the past two weeks.
In response, a public relations official in the Iranian customs commented in a statement to RT on allegations about Turkey closing its crossings to Iranian trucks following the tension between Tehran and Baku.
RT quoted the Iranian official as saying that the available information indicates that the movement of Iranian trucks continues at the joint crossings with Turkey.
He stated that the reports that arrived from the joint crossings with Turkey indicated that Iranian trucks continued to hesitate, indicating that he had not heard anything about closing the crossings from the Turkish side or not allowing Iranian trucks to cross.
In addition, over the past two weeks, Tehran has escalated the level of tension with its neighbor, Azerbaijan, under the pretext that the latter allows Israel to carry out activities that endanger Iran’s national security and in a sharp response to Iran and their threats.
The Turkish and Azerbaijani forces also started comprehensive military exercises in Azerbaijan lasting 13 days, including readiness tests of warplanes in the two countries.
