Two days ago, criticism continued inside Iran, as well as the Russian representative in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov.
As for the reason, Ulyanov tweeted on Thursday, commenting on the statements of former Iranian Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, in response to one of his followers on Twitter.
After a Twitter user wrote on the Russia representative’s page saying that “Mohammed Javad Zarif was right about Russia’s negative role in the talks,” Ulyanov replied, “You are free to mislead yourself and to be convinced of someone’s opinions that he gave under the influence of a toothache, headache or other conditions.” “. “Serious people don’t care about the comments you make as a result of a headache or toothache,” he added.
wave of criticism
However, the Russian diplomat’s tweet was met with a wave of criticism on social media, which later prompted him to delete it. Indeed, today, Saturday, he congratulated the Iranian minister on the occasion of his birthday, through a new tweet that may open a serious page as well!
I would like to congratulate Mr.Zarif on the occasion of his birthday. All the best! I attended a number of meetings with his participation and keep respectful feelings in this regard. We will not forget numerous examples of successful cooperation between Russia and Iran on JCPOA

In response to Ulyanov’s tweet, Diako Hosseini, a prominent Iranian expert on foreign policy, wrote: “Real patriots like Ulyanov and Zarif sometimes suffer from headaches and sometimes tweet a lot in the face of bitter facts,” but “professional diplomats do not publicly declare what they believe in, especially When it is offensive.
As the former CEO of the official Iran News Agency “Irana”, Mohammad Reza Nowrozpour, wrote in a tweet: “Mr. Ambassador, nothing causes more problems for our people and diplomats than foreign interference, as we feel a toothache as a result of pressure on them, and insulting one of our best diplomats. Please, as a diplomat, be careful not to provoke Iranians with your poisonous words.”

It is noteworthy that in addition to his criticism of Zarif, Ulyanov was criticized for what was leaked that his country, along with China, urged Iran to soften its position in the ongoing nuclear talks in Vienna.
He was also criticized sometimes for his frequent publication of his meetings in the Austrian capital and his meetings on the sidelines of the ongoing nuclear negotiations with Iran.
Returning to Ulyanov’s hints about Zarif, she refers to the audio recording that was leaked to him last April (2021) and shook the country, as the former minister said that Moscow played a negative role during the nuclear negotiations that led to the signing of the 2015 agreement.
At the time, he also criticized “the interference of the commander of the Quds Force in the Revolutionary Guards, Qassem Soleimani, in foreign policy.”
He also stressed that from the moment the nuclear agreement was finalized in July 2015 until the day the agreement was implemented in December of that year, several incidents occurred against the nuclear agreement, the most recent of which was the attack on the Saudi embassy in December of that year.
“In these six months, the first event was Soleimani’s visit to Moscow,” he added at the time.
He also pointed out that this visit took place “with the will of the Russians and without the control of the Iranian Foreign Ministry”, in order to try to “destroy the achievement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs” with the will of Russia.
Zarif also talked about Russia’s “attempts to challenge the agreement in the last weeks of its signing”, especially with regard to fuel for the Bushehr nuclear plant.
He concluded, “It is not in Russia’s interest for Tehran to normalize its relations with the West.”
